“Give Peace a Chance” Alliance

Michael Cronin was out and about recently and found “Friends” who stage a silent vigil in front of the Phillip Burton Federal Building (450 Golden Gate Avenue at Larkin) every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. He asked if members of MCCSF could join them in their action and they wholeheartedly responded, “Yes!”

You need to do nothing more than wear your MCCSF T-shirt, show up and join them to expand our social justice witness in San Francisco. If you desire more information, contact Michael Cronin.

Peace Vigil Statement

Stand with us against the war. We have stood on this corner every Thursday since October 2001. We come to say NO to war and to speak up for nonviolence. Here at the San Francisco Federal Building, Golden Gate Avenue and Larkin Street, we gather every Thursday, noon to 1:00 p.m. All in agreement are invited to vigil with us.  Let us stand against all war and pray for all victims of war. This vigil was started by two Quaker groups, American Friends Service Committee and San Francisco Friends Meeting. They have been joined by Buddhist Peace Fellowship and Episcopal Peace Fellowship and recently by the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco. Participants come from a range of backgrounds. Some of us are silent, praying or meditating. Others do not keep silence and are happy to speak with you. Please vigil with us every Thursday.
