Bay Area Metropolitan Community Churches

The California Bay Area is home to several Metropolitan Community Churches:

  • MCC of the Redwood Empire in the Guerneville/Russian River area
  • MCC Santa Rosa

Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC)

The objectives of UFMCC are to bind together churches for the purpose of sharing in the worship of God in the Christian tradition, and to make God's will dominant in the lives of all people, individually and collectively, as set forth in the Holy Scriptures.

San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC)

With over 200 active members, the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus is a wealth of talent. But this group of men is also a family of love and support, celebrating our gay pride through musical excellence.

Golden Gate Men's Chorus (GGMC)

The GGMC presents spring, summer, and winter programs annually, in addition to guest and community benefit performances throughout the year.

The Chorus is committed to excellence and joyous music-making; providing a supportive and nurturing atmosphere for our members' artistic and social self-expression; and sharing and expanding the rich and continuing tradition of male choral music.

Lesbian Gay Chorus of San Francisco (LGCSF)

The world's first mixed lesbian and gay chorus, LGCSF is dedicated to building and enriching the Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender (LGBT) community through song and a love of music. Since LGCSF's first concert 23 years ago at a local middle school, the Chorus has performed around the world, and hundreds of times in San Francisco. The Chorus has provided a forum for San Francisco's gay and lesbian music lovers to develop their talents, find good friends, and share their gifts with San Francisco's diverse communities.

San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band (SFLGFB)

The San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band (SFLGFB) is a community concert and marching band based in San Francisco that promotes visibility and musical education for the Bay Area's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (GLBTI) communities. Although a majority of its members are GLBTI, many are heterosexual and join to support the GLBTI community and to partake in a high-quality community concert and marching band. The SFLGFB presents musical programs that help to build understanding between GLBTI and other communities.

Harvey Milk Civil Right Academy (HMCRA)

Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy is a small, public alternative elementary school located in the heart of the Castro District. We are dedicated to achieving academic excellence, teaching tolerance and nonviolence, celebrating diversity, and building a strong family - school - community connection.

Rainbow World Fund (RWF)

Founded in 2000, Rainbow World Fund (RWF) is an international relief agency based in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and friends community. RWF’s mission is to promote LGBT philanthropy in the area of world humanitarian relief. RWF works to help people who suffer from hunger, poverty, disease, oppression and war by raising awareness and funds to support relief efforts around the world. RWF provides a united voice, a large visible presence, and a structure to deliver LGBT charitable assistance to the larger world community.

Out4Immigration

Out4Immigration is a volunteer grassroots organization that addresses the widespread discriminatory impact of U.S. immigration laws on the lives of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and HIV+ people and their families through education, outreach, advocacy and the maintenance of a resource and support network.

and at 7:00pm Wednesdays (Taizé Prayer at the Heart)
and at 4:00pm on the second Saturday of the month (Queer Eucharist).
